Ahead of hosting the Golden Globes on Jan. 5, 2025, comedian Nikki Glaser sat down with WWD to break down iconic moments from Golden Globes history, as part of her WWD cover shoot. 

“I’m already laughing and she hasn’t said anything funny,” Glaser said moments into watching Jennifer Coolidge present during the 2023 Globes. “Just the way she talks is so fun. Only Jennifer Coolidge can get away with talking for three minutes about literally nothing to do with what she’s presenting.”

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s legendary hosting included swipes at George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio for dating younger women.

“I love making fun of men for liking younger women. Classic — never gets old,” Glaser said. “And neither do their wives.”

In reaction to Jack Nicholson admitting to taking a Valium during the 2003 Globes, Glaser said, “Honestly! This is what the Golden Globes are about: drugs, honesty, friendship.”

“It’s a lot to live up to — what an exciting life I have,” Glaser added of hosting the 2025 ceremony. “What an exciting job that I get to follow in these incredible talents’ footsteps. But, I got to get to work.”

For her WWD cover shoot, Glaser wore looks by Balenciaga, Max Mara, Loewe, Stella McCartney, Lafayette 148, Dior, Jimmy Choo, Phoebe Philo and more. 

“I’m scared, but I’m also reassured by the fact that nothing in this business really lasts forever. Whether you bomb or whether you succeed, you’re forgotten pretty quickly. And it’s both depressing and comforting to know that it doesn’t matter,” Glaser said in her WWD cover story of hosting the Globes. “If I completely bomb, I can still have a career. I really believe that, but if I do well, it’ll be great for a little bit and then it’ll be forgotten just as much as if I bomb. I’ll be the talk of the town or in one way or another for a couple days, but that’s the most. And then it’ll go back to normal.”
